NATASHA SWAN
Natasha Swan is Founder and Director of Momentum Dance Studios. Since beginning her dance training at the age of four, Natasha has maintained a life-long connection with the dance industry.
She graduated from the University of New South Wales, where she trained in all styles of dance and drama with a focus on education. She received a combined degree of Bachelor of Arts in Dance & Theatre and a Bachelor of Education.
Natasha has a passion for innovative choreography and was awarded the St George Students Association Choreographic Scholarship twice whilst at university. She was invited to perform her signature work 'Revolutsia' for Options Tertiary Dance Festival in 2000. Her dance and theatrical productions have been produced in theatres and schools in Australia and the UK. The highlight of her year is always the Momentum Dance Studios Annual Performances. These productions are a celebration of the enthusiastic students and talented teachers at the school. To date, Natasha has produced 23 shows in professional theatres for Momentum students.
A strong advocate for Children’s Rights and Child Safety issues in the dance industry, Natasha has been a driving force behind the development of the Australian Dance Education Standards Association (ADESA). This voluntary association supports other dance schools to achieve best practice standards for the benefit and safety of Australian children participating in dance tuition and performance.
As a dance and drama education specialist and a mother of two young girls, Natasha brings industry expertise and a personal understanding to Momentum Dance Studios.
